Maizie is 3

This year I have seen the transformation of toddler to little girl! I think it happened fast after picking out these pics. But it brings joy to my heart knowing she, Maizie Charlotte, will always be my daughter. She will continue to learn her preferences and express her independence. She is a child who loves, a girl who nutures, a little lady learning manners, and eventually she'll be a woman who, I pray, follows God each day and trusts Him with her life! She is my "Best Girl" and my "Maizie Daisy!"

God, Father in Heaven,
I come to you this December 7th, 2009 remembering
this day 3 years ago. Officially her birthday
begins in a few minutes and I remember that day.
A day James & I along with our families were
in prayer over this precious life and her arrival.
I thank You for blessing us with a daughter.

Motherhood has been something I've longed
for my entire life. God, I didn't
know what you had in store, but
You have shown me how to parent her each day
and in specific ways. Maizie is often easy
to parent because of her laid-back personality
and go-with-the-flow charism. She has made me
laugh everyday of her life. She has asked me
to play with her each day, too! She curls up
on my lap for stories. Last week, You blessed me
Lord by having her put her arm around my shoulders,
look me in the eyes, and say,
"Mommy, let me give you some lovin's!"
I mean seriously,
I felt my heart melt into a pile of mush!

Lord, she asks me to read my Bible to her.
Help me to continue to surround
her with your love! God, help James and I
stay aware of her developmental
needs to help her grow in her knowledge of You.
Lord, draw her close to You each day!
Pull her heartstrings, so that at a young age
she turns her heart to Your Son,Jesus!
