1. The Organic Cooks Bible: Wow! This book taught me a lot about choosing Organic food. Every vegetable and fruit is listed with nutritional info, growing, and preparing! I've done a lot of research over the last five years about organic food, and the number one reason I speak SO highly of organic food is that it worked for me! I have been a migraine sufferer since I was 4, and even with glasses at that young age, they only helped. I started changing the way I ate, increasing organic fruits, vegs, meat, dairy, and a very low amount of preservatives. Guess what? My body started mending, I stopped suffering from migraines and my IBS settled down! Research starts somewhere and I wish I mine would've started with this book!

2. Deceptively Delicious: This cookbook is more an idea initiator than anything. It caused me to think about how I can add more nutrition to my meals, for me, James, AND the kids.

3. Cutco Knives: I blame my husband for this expensive luxury! And then I blame my friend Stephanie who worked for Cutco Marketing and convinced him to buy them at discount!!! Seriously though, I have taken the time to learn to use these very sharp knives so I don't injure myself. I am always watching FoodNetwork chefs and they're kniving techniques! In some weird way I have challenged myself to improve my knife stills and I consider it my secret hobby! (Guess the secret is out!) And just for the record, I am totally being serious!
4. Magic Bullet: I have had this gadget for 3 years! I use it more to puree fruits/vegs to add to recipes than to make milkshakes (as advertised)! I use it to blend fresh herbs, garlic, EVOO to make salad dressings or marinades. I use it to blend eggs and milk to make the fluffiest scrambled eggs known to man!

5. Finally, FoodNetwork, let's be honest, if I throw that station on a 1/2 hr before I need to make dinner, I usually cook a better dinner. I find that it gets my mind thinking more creatively to change up my menu. It is so easy to get in a cooking rut and a few simple episodes from Giada, Sandra, Sonny (Cooking for Real), Chef at Home, and Robin Miller and I am completely inspired!
