I've always been a crafter! I imagine with my Mom and Grandma's encouragement my love of crafting was formed. My Mom has a high interest in knitting and sewing. My Grandma infused a love a sewing, card-making, scrapbooking, and painting.
1. Knitting: Knitpicks Knitting Needles are my first go to. Mom stumbled upon these needles a few years back and said, "After 30+ years of knitting, the needle tips are worthy!" Various yarn shops have been able to supply a nice stash and helped me just find a pattern then sit and knit!
2. Husquarvna Sewing Machine & Singer Serger: Again, thanks to my Mom for the Husky and to my Grandma for the Singer, I myself often feel like a sewing machine! I love having the freedom to pick a pattern or me inspired my something on a blog and try it out! Hehehaa! Here are a few of my fav idea inspirations:
*Moda Bake Shop
*Ruffles & Stuff
3. Art: I have much appreciate for putting pencil to sketch paper. Or colored pencil to sketch paper! This is something I've always done, I do go in phases when I seem to draw a lot then go months without drawing. I recently ordered some cupcake prints for Maizie's bedroom, and was inspired to try to design and create something for Jackson. I'm currently working on some ideas, maybe I'll have a few prints to show in a couple months! I'm taking my time on this little project.
*Sarah Jane Studios
*Abigail Halpin
*Freya Blackwood
4. Embroidery: This is something I started dabbling in last year and enjoy a "needle pulling thread" experience. I like to do this in the summer and add beautiful details to tea-towels and t-shirts! Embroidery seems to make something so plain turn into something very personal!
*Feeling Stitchy
*Follow the White Bunny
5. Papercrafting: Scrapbook Inc. Magazine, James order me a subscription one year for a Christmas gift and I saved each mag. I am continually flipping through them finding new ideas! Time is a problem for me regarding scrapbooking because I often find myself sewing or knitting first, so I need to work on this!
