Defining A Mess

I am sitting here drinking Comfort And Joy Republic of Tea. I look around my house and see:

1. Kitchen counter with clean dishes that need put away

2. Sink full of dirty dishes

3. Two laundry baskets full of newborn baby needs

4. A pile of children's book because someone dumped the basket

5. Dollhouse pieces everywhere

6. Couch cover missing because someone spilled their milk

This is last night's mess.  I don't usually leave my house like this, I like it picked up at the end of every day. But yesterday was one if those rare days that exhaustion on James and I's part set it. The kids fell asleep around 7:45, then James fell asleep at 8:45. Talk about an early night!  So today it appears my list is already prepared of things for me to accomplish. I'm just glad my family found rest yesterday, so today I do not mind the mess!
