Living in Daily Life

I am in hardcore nesting-mode, just ask my poor husband. Last weekend we rarranged our bedroom, cleaned the closet, have a bag to go to goodwill, the cradle is setup with a clean sheet and Little Giraffe blanket, and now there is actually enough floor space for me to setup the ironing board and watch tv while doing it. Let's call that Phase I. Now onto Phase II, the great room. Phase II started because I was sitting in my chair yesterday morning thinking about how I like to be surrouned with pretty things. I had some "feminine" things around but not enough for my liking. I decided that I would dig through the basement and pick my favorite decor things and see how I could bring them together. Below are the results of course, the adorable fabric on one lampshade, which is new, will eventually get to the other lampshade, I just ran out of material. The lamps were brass and I found this great paint at the craft store...metallic espresso! Perfect! I also reupholstered the dining table chair cushions with the fun fabrc. James'comment, "I like it better than what was on it before." I think that's kinda funny because there was boring tan on it! I rearranged the pics above the couch and as I started printing the sepia photos of our family...yep you guessed it, the printer ran out of ink. Arghhh. So even though two of my projects have been postponed, I am sitting here enjoying the change. So far, this change has only cost me $24!!!! That is one cheap makeover. PS- I also organized my knitting basket and my needlework basket, in case you were wondering. Again, the whole reason for the needlework basket is because I found a scrap of brown velvet I thought I'd hand embroider and then turn into a cute pillow for my chair. PSS- Phase I & Phase II have caused me to fall WAY behind in my read the Bible in a year. Maybe now I'll just sit and read.

It looks so different. I love it. And that paint on the lamps is amazing. Good job, once again!
