My James told me that I should share my weight-loss secrets! Ummm, yeah right! No, just kidding, I will say up front that I have no secrets. I have already shared some of the details with Eat-Clean Diet with Tosca Reno and some other things. James thought I should share my knowledge with the world! So here I go, well, mind you I think that 5 years of random education about organic food, natural food, processed food, exercising, child-bearing & rearing, and time are major factors in my knowledge. But I am going to keep it simple here, just stating what works for me.
1. Eat to Live not Live to Eat! Think about the play on words. I am known for eating a meal just to get to dessert. I daily remind myself that my body needs me to make healthy choices to function better each moment. I also remember that 90% of what I eat needs to be fresh!
2. Eat 1 Salad a day! I pick a meal and make that an all veggie/nuts/fruit meal.
3. Eat 1 Sugar a day! Portion controlling with sugar, allows me to indulge a little each day and not feel deprived of sweets.
4. 5 Meals include breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner.
5. 64 oz of Water. I drink water before each meal, especially first thing in the morning I drink 16 oz. this is even before the coffee.
6. 2 Handfuls = Veggies
7. 1 Handful = Fruits
8. 1 Palmful = lean protein
9. Vitamins and Supplements, I take a variety of these for different reasons. A prenatal vitamin, cranberry, DHA, green tea, garlic, Probiotic, Folic Acid, and Flax Seed. (*This works for my system, I recommend that someone do research to discover what their body requires.)
10. Exercise! I love to walk and have discovered that I enjoy running too. I'm just waiting for the weather to turn so I can venture out more!

I share a lot of your secrets but have definitely been over indulging in the sweets department lately--darn you Girl Scouts of America! lol :)
